GENE KILGORE
THE RANCH GUY!
Dedicated to bringing the best of ranch country to the world. Gene Kilgore's name is synonymous with one of ranching's great traditions. Early on, he worked as a cowboy on two famous Wyoming ranches. And, since 1980, he has traveled thousands of miles exploring ranches in North and South America, bringing ranch country to millions of people worldwide. As the best selling author of his famous guide Ranch Vacations, Kilgore has been heard on many radio programs and seen on TV networks, including CNN, ABC, and CBS, and featured in the New York Times, People Magazine, National Geographic Traveler, and Sunset Magazine. He is the original lifetime member of the Dude Ranchers' Association.
In 1960, at the age of seven, Gene Kilgore visited his first dude ranch in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Trail Creek Ranch left an indelible memory. It was Gene's dream to become a doctor, and he followed this pursuit to medical school. It was there that he realized his heart and soul were meant to be outdoors where the buffalo roam.
In 1980, he left to follow his heart, with a vision of being involved in guest ranching. And what a journey it has been. He worked as a cowboy for one of the largest cattle ranches in Wyoming, Miller Land and Livestock, and later as a wrangler at the famous and historic White Grass Ranch at the foot of the Tetons in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. In 1980 he created the Kilgore Worldwide Ranch Company and Ranch Vacations International. Today, Gene Kilgore's name is synonymous with one of America's great traditions. He has travelled thousands of miles exploring ranches in the United States, Canada, and South America, bringing ranch country to millions of people worldwide.
Over the years as a best selling author, Kilgore has been heard on numerous radio programs, been a guest on TV networks including CNN, ABC's Regis and Kathy Lee, CBS, and has been featured in the New York Times, People magazine, National Geographic Traveler, and Sunset magazine. He is the original lifetime member of the Dude Ranchers' Association. As Gene says, “It is my dream that my work will help men, women and children discover, like I did 66 years ago, the magic of these beautiful ranches and know the wonderful men and women who run them.”
